From 17th August the SEISS will open for claims for a second and final grant, the window is open from 18th August however the scheme will close on the 19th October so don’t leave it too late to claim. Please do not try to claim before this date as you will not be able to access the service online or over the phone.
The eligibility criteria remains the same as for the first grant.
HMRC expect you to make an honest assessment about whether your business has been adversely affected. There is no minimum threshold over which your business’s income or costs need to have changed, you will however need to keep a record of evidence of how your business has been adversely affected, in case you are audited/investigated by HMRC at a later date.
Unfortunately, like the first grant, we are unable to assist you in making this claim. We will however require you to produce your paperwork of any claims received, as all are taxable and will need to be processed through your accounting system.
Please note the second taxable grant is worth 70% of your average monthly trading profits, paid out in a single instalment, this will be based on three months’ worth of profits and capped at £6570.
Wishing you success with your claims.
